SYDLEXIA
In the spring of 2023, I was tasked with creating a social awareness campaign of my choice.
I chose to build the brand "Sydlexia," centered around the goal of making sense of dyslexia. I pulled from my and my family's own struggles and success stories and decided to accomplish my goal of raising awareness about dyslexia by using a hands-on campaign.
I learn best by doing and creating with my hands. It helps me understand things better. This isn’t something I alone struggle with. People with dyslexia are proven to learn better through visual, tactile, and spacial methods. I wanted to create something that could help people without dyslexia better understand what it is like to struggle to read and how to use different methods to understand words better. I decided upon focusing on origami because I remember doing lots of origami as a kid with my parents.
I designed a series of posters, magazine spreads, magazine ads, a billboard, and an Instagram reel.
